MP Liton lands in jail

A Gaibandha court yesterday sent Manjurul Islam Liton, Awami League MP from Gaibandha-1 constituency, to jail rejecting bail and remand pleas in a case for shooting a minor boy in Sundarganj upazila. Additional chief judicial magistrate Moynul Hasan Yousuf passed the order after hearing. Manjurul Islam Liton was produced before the court around 11:30pm from the office of police super. Israil Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station, sought 5-day remand for Liton. Meanwhile, supporters of Liton locked in a clash with the law enforcers when Liton was being taken to the court.
