Politicians, cops top list
Some 86 per cent of youths in the country hold negative impression about integrity in politics, says a recent survey conducted by anti-graft watchdog Transparency International Bangladesh. Around 66 per cent respondents also say law enforcing agencies lack integrity, followed by land administration (65 per cent) and judicial services (57 per cent). The survey, conducted among 3,656 people in 31 districts selected through a multi-stage stratified systematic sampling method, also reveals that youths in Bangladesh almost unanimously consider ‘lack of integrity’ as an enormous problem and detrimental to country’s economics and overall development.
