Fake army major held in Pabna

Pabna: Police in a drive arrested a fake army major at Mallikpara in Atgharia upazila of the district on Thursday night, reports UNB.The arrestee was identified as Mominul Islam, 28, son of Osman Gani, a resident of Mallikpara. Anwarul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Atgharia Police Station, said Mominul collected money from people introducing himself as a major of Bangladesh Army.On secret information, a patrol team of police conducted a drive around 11:30 pm at a house in Mallikpara and arrested him along with a fake identity card of Bangladesh Army and uniform.Later, based on information provided by Mominul, police conducted another drive at Safura in Rajshahi on Friday and recovered several sets of army uniforms.
