RANGPUR: State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga has said Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony and people are living here peacefully since time immemorial, reports BSS. “The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sincerely working to ensure welfare of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion to build a prosperous nation through combined efforts of all citizens,” he said.
The State Minister said today while addressing the triennial grand conference and discussion meeting of the Rangpur and Rajshahi divisional unit of ‘Uttarbanga Sanskrit Shikhkhok Parishad (USSP)’ at Town Hall auditorium as the chief guest. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) KM Maruf Hassan, Trustee of the Hindu Kallyan Trust Advocate Rothish Chandra Bhowmick Babu Sona and School Inspector of Dinajpur Education Board Rabindra Narayan Bhattacharya addressed as special guests.
Presided over by Convener of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisional unit of USSP Principal Manoranjan Roy, members of the organisation and Sanskrit teachers from allover Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions took part in the conference.
Ranga said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina firmly believes in communal harmony and people of all faiths have been enjoying equal rights in nurturing their own religious rituals on this soil where the common people never believe in communalism.
The State Minister said the issue of taking more steps to further improve Sanskrit language in the country would be discussed with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Joint Convener of Rangpur and Rajshahi divisional unit of USSP Professor Swapan Kumar Barman moderated the function.
