Fugitive held in Gazipur

Detective Branch of police in a drive arrested a fugitive, an accused of a murder case, from Tongi area of Gazipur on Saturday night, reports UNB. He has been identified as Hafizur Rahman alias Hafizul, 30, of Poragoan village in Nalitabari upazila of the district. Hafizul, who is the main accused in easy-bike driver Omar Ali killing case, fled from police custody on May 25 last. Md Shahjahan Mia, assistant police super of Sherpur  police circle, said acting on a tip-off, DB police conducted a drive in the area at around 11:30 pm and arrested Hafizul. After fleeing from police custody, Hafizul was driving an easy-bike in Tongi area. Fashihur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari police station, said Hafizul allegedly killed Omar over a trifling matter in Nonni area on March 31. Later, police arrested him and filed a case against him.
