There was scant rain on the first day of the Bangla month of Ashar, although the Met Office had forecast showers yesterday. People waited expectantly as dark clouds formed, but there was little rain yesterday except in Nilphamari and Faridpur. The Met Office recorded 212mm of rainfall in Dimla, the highest in the day, and 65mm in the neighbouring Sayedpur of Nilphamari, and 74mm in Faridpur till 6pm yesterday.
Dhaka recorded only three mm of rainfall.
The weather office recorded 25mm rainfall at Khepupara, 18 mm at Patuakhali, and 14mm at Teknaf.
