SYLHET: Sylhet District Administration, in the backdrop of heavy showers on Wednesday, asked all the upazila administrations concerned to evict all residents living in dangerous settlements below hills and in foothills, reports UNB.
The district administration came up with the decision in a bid to avoid any major tragedy such as the one witnessed in Chittagong division this week.
Talking to reporters, deputy commissioner of Sylhet Rahat Anwar said the upazila administration has already carried out cautionary campaign amid the residents living in risky areas on Wednesday with loudspeakers.
Additional police super (media) Sugan Chakma told reporters that the police administration has given message to all police stations over the landslide of hill and hillock.
