The minister came up with the warning while talking to journalists after visiting vulnerable areas in Lalkhan Bazar, Matijharna and Batali Hill in the port city.
“Eviction drives will be conducted as the lives of thousands of people are concerned here.
No political influence will be tolerated in this case,” said Quader adding the eviction drives can be made successful if the authorities concerned, including the city corporation mayor, take necessary steps.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and local MP Afsarul Amin were, among others, present during the visit.
Earlier in the day, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited tornado-affected Halishahar and distributed relief materials among 600 affected families.
