Headed by the general secretary Abdus Sdeuqe in a joint meeting of the working committee and the selection committee took the decision yesterday to dismiss Oliver Kartz and the charge will be entrusted to local coaches.
General secretary of the BHF ensured this correspondent yesterday that they have decided to sack Oliver for breaking regulations when he left Bangladesh without informing any of the officials of the federation.
Sadeque, the veteran organizer and also the first captain of the Bangladesh national hockey team said, “Yes, we decided to sack him because he left Bangladesh five days before but none of us don’t know about his departure it is disregard to ignore the federation. His previous record is not also very pleasant as, he did such misbehave with the federation and we just let off the past and again appointed him.”
“Now, you know our national team’s camp started from June 2 to take preparation for the Asia Cup hockey but after five or six days he left the team without information and we don’t know where he has gone. It is really too much to leave the team in this important time, so we decided to dismiss him.”
“Now our local coaches will look after the team. Alamgir Alam and goalkeeping coach Jahangir Alam are running the camp and Mahbub Harun will join after the Eid,” Sadeque informed.
“We can keep faith in our local coaches, they also proved in the past that under their coaching team did well results, in different competition. This time also we keep our belief on our local boys (coaches) considering their previous performance, we will play the Asia Cup under local coaches,” said Sadeque.
Meanwhile, the Asia Cup scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 2 in Dhaka with eight top nations of Asia will take part in the competition when besides the host Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Oman are the other participants.
