Emon, Popy come together for small screen now

National Film Award winning actress Popy, who is always very choosy about working on both small and big screens, usually works for the small screen on the occasion of two Eids only. To keep the trend alive, she has involved herself in two small screen productions this Eid-ul-Fitr as well. DhakaLive has news that the actress has started working for a tele-drama before Ramadan, while she is working in a telefilm from this Saturday. The shooting of the telefilm is underway at a shooting house in Pubail on the outskirts of the capital.
With the love story of Kusum-Koli, the telefilm titled ‘Kusumpurer Kusum Koli’ is being made under the direction of Sadek Siddiqui, who also has written its screenplay. In the telefilm, Popy is playing as Kusum and Emon is enacting the role of Koli opposite her.
However, Emon nowadays has become a regular face on the small screen besides working for the big screen. As a result, the actor is spending much busy time with the works of small screen right now.
Popy said about working in the telefilm, “In one word, the story of ‘Kusumpurer Kusum Koli’ is superb. The character I am playing here is also very challenging. I worked under the direction of Sadek Siddiqui earlier, and I also acted with Emon in a film before. This is for the first time that we are working in a project for the small screen. On the whole, I am very optimistic about the telefilm.”
Emon said about working with Popy after five long years, “If I go back to five years ago, I was a novice actor at that time. Popy madam was already a superstar by that time. But the way she had extended her cooperation with a newcomer like me, this will always be remembered by me. Now, after so many years, I didn’t notice any change in her. I am still getting same cordial cooperation from her while coming to work together again for this telefilm.”
With the aim of airing on SA TV during the Eid-ul-Fitr, the telefilm ‘Kusumpurer Kusum Koli’ is being produced, director Sadek Siddiqui informed.
To note, Popy and Emon acted together for the first time in the film ‘Garments Konya’ directed by G Sarkar, which was released in 2012. l
