SYLHET: The rail communications between Sylhet and other parts of the country were resumed on Sunday morning after ten hours of suspension since Saturday night due to derailment of a passenger train in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar, reports UNB.
Two relief trains from Akhaura and Kulaura reached the spot and restored the rail route around 8am, said Foyez, assistant station master of Sreemangal Railway Station.
Earlier around 10pm on Saturday, two bogies of a demo train veered off the rail track in Lauasora area near Vanugas Railway Station halting the communication. The incident took place as a tree fell on the railway track during a storm.
Chittagong-bound Udayan Express, Dhaka-bound Upaban Express remained stranded at Kulaura Station and Sylhet Station respectively due to the derailment, causing serious sufferings to the commuters.
