A group of teachers and students under the banner of ‘Teacher-Student Unity Platform’ of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday at a press briefing demanded the withdrawal of case against 42 students.

She said, “We have several time demanded to withdraw the case against the students but the authority concerned yet to pay any heed for the withdrawal of this case. But, now we have decided to continue our protest with new form instead of going to the authority again”.
Refusing the investigating committee, she said, “All members of the investigating committee are pro administrative teachers. Some of them are syndicate member who were in favour of filing this case. So, they are not reliable for fair investigation”.
Prof A S M Anwarullah Bhuyan of Philosophy, Prof Dr Md Shamsul Alam Selim of Government and Politics, Chairman of Mathematics department Prof Md. Sharif Uddin, Prof Shamima Sultana, Anisa Parvin Jolly and the leaders and activists of different cultural and social organisations were attended the press conference. Pro Vice-chancellor Prof Abu Hossain received the memorandum as VC was not present in her office.
