A madrasah teacher was chopped to death by miscreants at Khanpur village in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi yesterday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 35, a physical education teacher of Khanpur Dakhil Madrasah and son of Moyez Uddin of the village. Officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station Nasim Ahmed said two people called Kalam out of a tea shop at Khanpur Bazar while he was having tea after iftar. Locals spotted the body of Kalam by a betel leaf garden near the bazaar around 9pm and informed police. Later, the law enforcers recovered the body that bored several injury marks and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) morgue. Three bottles of soft drinks were found by the body. Police suspected that two people, who might be known to the teacher, killed him.
