Satkhira: Local people formed a human chain in front of Press Club in Sadar upazila here yesterday morning demanding necessary preparations to prevent waterlogging in the upcoming rainy season, reports UNB.
Different socio-cultural and environmental organisations jointly arranged the programme around 10am.Addressing the programme, the speakers said around 200 villages in 40 unions of Sadar, Tala and Kolaroa upazila remain waterlogged for about six months since beginning of the rainy season that damage dwelling houses, roads and other establishments.The speakers urged the authorities concerned to take preparations to prevent the waterlogging through freeing the rivers, canal and developing proper water drainage system.
