Garment workers yesterday demanded that they be paid by 20th of Ramadan an equal amount of their one month's basic wage as festival bonus for upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, reports UNB. The demand was made from a rally organised by Garment Sramik Trade Union Kendra in Malibagh area in the capital. The RMG workers also sought allocation for accommodation, rationing and health in the national budget, said a press release. The organisation General Secretary Joli Talukdar said although all the service holders, both government and private sector ones, get an equal amount of their one month's basic salary as festival allowance, the garment workers are always deprived of it.
