The registration of Bangladeshi dispora living abroad opened yesterday, reports UNB. Expatriate’s Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam inaugurated the online registration.
Through the registration, the Bangladeshis diaspora will be included in the database of Wage Earners Welfare Board and they will be entitled to get all welfare services provided by the board.
Expatriate’s Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Begum Shamsun Nahar and WEWB Director General Gazi Mohammad Julhas were, among others, present.
The WEWB DG said the registration fee for per person has been fixed at Tk 3,500 which will have to be paid in foreign currency to respective Bangladesh missions abroad.
He said the registration form has been posted on the WEWB website. The non-resident Bangladeshis will receive a a computer-generated certificate after depositing the fees online.
