The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) reopened residential halls yesterday (Thursday) amid strict security after being 11 days shut down.
A large number of police have been deployed in different important spots on the campus including dairy gate, Joy Bangla Gate, Bishmile Gate, MH Gate, JU registrar office and Vice- chancellor’s residence.
The Chief Security Officer Shudipta Shaheen said, ‘There is no possibility to unrest the entire atmosphere of campus and the situation is clam and quite’. However, a little number of students who have tuitions and exams has occupied their respective dormitories from the morning and most of the students did not return to campus as exams were postponed till July 8.
