Stocks ended the week yesterday mixed with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges despite lower transactions, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 37.04 points up at 5475.75. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 9.39 points up at 1268.33 and with 14.28 points up at 2037.02.
Out of the 333 issues traded on DSE, 198 gained against 111 losing issues.
The week's trade value at DSE declined to Tk 517.12 crore from the last session of previous week Tk 526.04 crore and the weekly trade also fell to 14.03 crore shares from 15.12 crore of the previous week.
The top five gainers of the week were Standard Insurance, BD Welding, Sp Ceramics, Pragati Life and Central PHL. The major losing issues of the week included SAVAREFR, Jamuna Bank, Jute Spinning, BSC and Nurani.
The top five turnover leaders were MJL BD, Lanka Bangla Finance, Beximco Pharma, SPCL and UPGDCL.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 127.81 points higher at 16,965.89.
