Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) yesterday urged the government to review the proposed budget to let the country’s telecom sector keeping its ongoing progress up.
They said the tax structure proposed for the telecom industry would hamper its growth which in turn will hinder the journey of digital Bangladesh.
AMTOB passed their observation at a post budget press conference held in a city hotel.
“Ultimately the burden of tax to mobile operators would be translated to the customers,” said AMTOB Secretary General T I M Nurul Kabir.

The government will have to spend Tk. 64,397 crore to repay loan interest and to make pension and gratuity payments in FY 2017–18, according to finance minister AMA Muhith’s proposed budget. …
