RAJSHAHI;: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken step to set up modern and hygienic slaughterhouse in the metropolis aimed at improving its environmental condition, reports BSS.
Time has come to prevent the existing trend of slaughtering animals here and there.
Local and international development organizations should come forward and work together to prevent the trend. RCC Mayor Mosaddique Hossain Bulbul revealed this while inaugurating construction works of a modern slaughter house at Kazla area in the city yesterday as chief guest.
Preliminary, the house is being constructed at a cost of Taka 1.20 crore. RCC Ward Councilors Md Kamruzzaman, Shahjahan Ali, Abdus Sobhan, Nasira Begum, Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque, Superintending Engineer Khairul Basher and Veterinary Surgeon Dr Farhad Hossain were present on the occasion.
City Mayor Bulbul said collective effort of all government and non-government organisations concerned has become a crucial issue to control the community level zoonotic disease particularly anthrax as its risks are increasing in the country.
This is the high time to improve environment adding all sorts of environment pollution related issues will be addressed in phases.
