Considerable gain in large cap securities drove the share markets further up yesterday when all market indicators finished higher with rising transactions, reports BSS.
The rising major sectors were engineering, travels and leisure, insurance, financial institutions and bank. A total of 172 large-cap securities moved up due to higher market activities.
The broader price DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 38.53 points up at 5,482.52. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 16.33 points up at 2044.83 and with 8.25 points up at 1270.87 respectively.
The day's trade value at DSE increased to Tk 596.02 crore from Sunday's Tk 460.12 crore and the daily trade also rose to 15.68 crore share from 12.97 crore share of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day's 325 securities, prices of 207 securities closed higher against 71 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Apollo Isphat, Peninsula Chittagong, BD Finance, PURABIGEN and Exim Bank.
The major losing issues were SAVAREFR, Continental Insurance, Central Insurance, Nurani Dying and DBHISTMF. MJL BD topped the turnover list followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, BRAC Bank, IFAD Autos and Beximco Pharma.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 127.26 points up at 16,979.41. At CSE, 225 were issues traded. Of those, 145 closed higher and 53 closed lower while 1.18 crore shares worth Tk 41.39 crore changed hands.
