‘No heavy vehicle on Rampura, Amulia road’

BSS

The High Court today banned plying of heavy vehicles for three months on road starting from capital’s Rampura Bridge to Amulia in Demra via Banasree.
The court also issued a rule asking authorities concerned to submit explanations in four weeks as to why their inaction in controlling the plying of heavy vehicles on the road and protecting it from damage, shall not be declared illegal, reports BSS.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque passed the order asking 11 officials including Road Transport and Bridges Secretary, Home Secretary and Inspector General of Police to submit their explanations.
An inhabitant of Banasree area AFM Kamrul Hasan Khan Pathan filed a writ in this regard on June 4.
Barrister Golam Sarwar Payel moved the petition before the court today.
