A mobile court of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) yesterday fined Super Shop Agora Tk 305, 000 for using formalin in fish and fruits.
Special Magistrate of CCC (Joint District Judge) Jahanara Ferdous led the drive at Agora Super Shop of Afmi Plaza in the city’s Pobortok circle area.
Another mobile court of Chittagong District Administration led by executive magistrates Syed Morad Ali and Shanta Rahman warned shopkeepers of Mimi Super Market of Pobortak area to comply the market rules, maintain price tags and keep reasonable price from the customers.
Another court led by executive magistrate Abdus Samad Sikder in the city’s Jhautola Bazar fined four shops to Tk15,000 on different grounds including charging high price and weight manipulation.
Another mobile led by executive magistrate Anupoma Das fined five shops and two hotels to Tk23,000 at the city’s Riazuddin Bazar.
As part of on-going market monitoring during Ramadan, Chittagong district administration is conducting several mobile courts at the largest commodity hub Khatunganj market and several other kitchen markets of the city every day.
