Abahani, Jamal to play for win

The high voltage semifinal between the defending champions Abahani Limited and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take place today at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 7:15pm.
Abahani Limited won the Federation Cup last season defeating Arambagh Krira Sangha in the final but this time they will have to face better contenders Sheikh Jamal in the semifinal but the Sky Blue will go to filed  to win the match whoever the opponents.“We have progressed step by step, group stage, quarterfinal and now it is semifinal, so to play in the final you have to win the match,” said Rupu.
Abahani, who played very impressive game in their AFC Cup last match on Wednesday against Mohun Bagan of India and Jamal might be easier opponents than the Indian side, Rupu doesn’t want to think it as any inspiration when he said, “No, I believe opponents are always strong, new match, new chapter, what was in the past that is not important.” “Knockout phase, have to play with showing due respect to opponents, have to prove on the ground. We will go to win the match,” said Rupu.But Jamal coach Joseph Afusi is a bit care about the semifinal of the Federation Cup while he said, “Actually, mostly I focus on the league, after retaining the charge of the team it is my first assignment, so I want to play the final.”
