KCCI terms budget as development oriented

President of Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Md Kazi Aminul Haque has termed the proposed budget as pro- people and development oriented, reports BSS. In a reaction over mobile phone on Friday, the chamber leader also says, emphasis should be given on ensuring transparency and accountability in implementation of the ever-highest annual budget.
“Its implementation will not be impossible,” he said adding that such budget was needed to meet up gradually increasing demands of the nation. The budget will help reflecting hopes and aspirations of the public in general, he said.
He praised Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit for proposing the ever-biggest budget. Amin calls for special budgetary allocation to the potential sectors of Khulna region through bringing some addition and reduction in the proposed budget.
He added that the budget will obviously supplement the improvement process of national and socio-economic condition after expediting the GDP growth alongside elevating human resource and reducing poverty.
Amin says the proposed budget has given emphasis towards the vital sectors of the country like ICT, education, women empowerment, agriculture, health, fuel and power, industry, investment and social safety net.
Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid termed the proposed budget as pro-people. “We think overall development of the nation will not be possible until balanced development,” Harun, also president of Khulna district unit Awami League, says.
He, however, viewed that the budget will play vital role in overall development of the nation. He hailed the proposed budget for additional allocations for Mega Projects to enhance GDP growth rate and pro-people sectors like health, education, development of human resources, electricity, social safety-net, fuel, transportation, communication and ICT.
Secretary General of Mongla Port Users Coordination Committee and Inland Transport Owners Association Advocate Saiful Islam termed the special initiatives for agriculture, rural uplift, creation of jobs, attaining self- reliance in coping with climate change impacts, utilization of external economic opportunities, enhancing remittance and creating newer export markets as appropriate.
He also thanked the Finance Minister for allocation adequate budget for different projects of country’s southern part like gas supply through pipe line, khanjahan Ali Airport, Khulna-mongla Railway Line Padma Bridge, Rampal Power Plant and modernization of Mongla Port.
