RANGPUR: Anti-corruption activists at a workshop have underscored the need for skill development of school level Integrity Unit leaders so that they could properly apply those in preventing corruption, reports BSS.
They came up with the view at concluding ceremony of the workshop styled ‘Skill Development of Integrity Unit leaders’ held at Begum Rokeya auditorium here on Wednesday afternoon.
The District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and district Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) jointly organised the workshop with assistance of RDRS Bangladesh.
The Presidents, General Secretaries and Members of Integrity Units from 11 secondary level schools, Adviser-teachers of Integrity Units, Members of district CPC, officials of ACC and RDRS Bangladesh, took part.
Deputy Director of District Combined Office of ACC Mozahar Ali Sarder attended the workshop as the chief guest with President of district CPC Rakibul Hasan in the chair.
Director (Development Programme) of RDRS Bangladesh Monjushree Saha and Vice-president of district CPC Dr Nasima Akhter as special guests attended the workshop moderated by General Secretary of district CPC Akbar Hossain.
As the resource persons, Assistant Director of District Combined Office of ACC Atikur Rahman delivered presentations on ‘Prevention of Corruption’, development expert Rajesh Dey Raju on ‘Development of Leadership’, senior journalist Mamun Islam, Advocate Zakia Sultana Choite, Dr Samorpita Ghosh Tanya, Rakibul Hasan and Akbar Hossain delivered presentation on ‘Good Practice.’
The resource persons discussed about necessity of developing skills of Integrity Unit leaders for utilising those along with their honesty and patriotic zeal in preventing corruption and bad practices from the society. The Integrity Unit leaders also took part in group works and suggested recommendations on possible ways for developing their skills for preventing corruption.
The Integrity Unit leaders committed to utilise their knowledge acquired from the workshop in spreading values of honesty, morale, good character and good practices among their classmates for changing behavior to build a corruption free society.
The chief guest appreciated activities of Integrity Unit leaders in creating awareness among common students through extracurricular and anti-corruption works and their firm commitment to prevent corruption.
He suggested them to properly utilise their skills in enhancing capabilities of motivating their classmates, family members and common people in building a devolved Bangladesh free from corruption.
