DU student injured in attack by BCL men

A student of Dhaka University was injured in an attack allegedly by some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit on Thursday night over a trifling matter, reports UNB. The injured was Ismail Ahmed Mubin, a Masters student of Anthropology department of Dhaka University and also a resident of the Bijoy Ekattor Hall.
According to witnesses, Ahmed Mubin slightly pushed a student named Arif Mahmud, who is the vice president of Bangladesh Chhatra League BCL unit, at general store of the Bijoy Ekattor Hall on Thursday night.
Following the incident, an altercation broke out between the two students, said the witnesses.
Later, some activists of the BCL DU unit dragged Mubin out of the store and beat him up mercilessly, leaving him injured.
Ahmed Mubin was first admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He was given primary treatment at the DMCH and later the student was sent to Dhaka University Medical Centre for further treatment and follow up.
