Father, son drown

RANGPUR: A father and his son died after drowning in a pond in village Kashiram under Tushbhander union of Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat today, police and hospital sources said, reports BSS. The victims were identified as Nirab Hossain, 7, and his father Dabiar Rahman, 38. Quoting local sources, Duty Officer of Kaliganj Thana Sub-inspector Raju Ahmed said Nirab went to take bathe in a nearby pond at 3 pm. After few minutes, Dabiar Rahman noticed that his son Nirab was trying to save him from being drowned in the pond. The father immediately jumped into the pond to save his drowning son.
