Rain brings relief to Dhaka dwellers

Light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm swept different parts of the capital at Sunday noon brought a little relief to the city dwellers suffering from persistent heat wave since last couple of weeks, reports UNB. Officials at the Meteorology Department said rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chittagong and Rangpur divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions. With the mercury maintaining its upward trend for the last few days, the heat wave continued to sweep over the country, making daily life miserable.
The low income people specially day labourers and rickshaw-pullers in city areas were seen to continue their works with difficulties in the sultry weather.
