Quader urges Khaleda to return to positive politics

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday urged BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to return to positive politics shunning the path of negative politics, reports BSS. “I want to say the BNP Chairperson, whose party has been declared as a terrorist organization by an international court, to have patience and to return to positive political trend. Apologize to the countrymen for the misdeeds your party did in the past, otherwise your political existence would be at stake,” he said in a statement. Criticizing BNP Chairperson Begum Zia’s statement, the ruling party general secretary said it does not seem befitting to BNP to give slogan of democracy as the BNP came to power through killing, coup and conspiracy.
The people of the country still remember the military ruler Ziaur Rahman and BNP’s misrule, he said, adding the 15th February election in the name of democracy and killing of around 21,000 AL workers between 2001 and 2006 at the directives of Begum Zia’s son Tarique Zia.
