15 shops gutted in Laxmipur fire

Laxmipur: Fifteen shops were gutted as a fire broke out in a market in Bhabaniganj Chowrasta area of Sadar upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.Md Farid Ahmed Chowdhury, deputy assistant director of fire service, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in ‘Ma Confectionary’ at ‘School Market’ of the area and soon engulfed the adjoining shops.On information, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts.
