Smuggler arrested with gold bars

Members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) arrested a smuggler along with five gold bars during smuggling in Charabari border area of Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira district on Thursday, reports UNB.
The detainee is identified as Ujjal Hossain, 25, son of Ismail Hossain of Keragachi village of the upazila.
Naik Subedar Mizanur Rahman of BGB Toluigacha border outpost said acting on a tip-off they conducted a raid near main pillar 13 and sub-pillar 3 around 5:00 pm and held Ujjal with five gold bars.
The market price of the gold bars would be presumably Tk 2,00,000, he added.
