Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves Dhaka for Vienna on Monday to attend a conference of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and hold bilateral a meeting with the Federal Chancellor of Austria, reports UNB. Christian Kern was sworn in as Austria’s Federal Chancellor on May 17 last year. The Austrian Federal Chancellor is the head of government. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali will brief media on Sunday on the Prime Minister’s two-day visit.
Marking the 60th anniversary of the IAEA’s Technical Cooperation programme, the international conference on the ‘IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme: Sixty Years and Beyond’ will take place in Vienna from May 30 to June 1. Sheikh Hasina will deliver speech at the inaugural session of the conference on Tuesday, a Foreign Ministry senior official told the news agency yesterday.
President, Eastern Republic of Uruguay Tabaré Vázquez; President, Republic of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib-Fakim; Chairman of IAEA Board of Governors Tebogo Joseph Seokolo; Assistant Director-General, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) René Castro Salazar and Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano are also scheduled to deliver speeches at the inaugural session.
The conference will bring together member states and other partners to further develop partnerships to enhance the delivery of the technical cooperation, said the organisers.
