Coach Mohammad Salahuddin said that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) should take effective measures to reduce the big gap what has been created between the national team’s players and out of the national team’s players.
He also said that they should produce the quality pipeline or back-up players so that any vacuum is not created after the retirement of the string of national players within the next few years.
“Overall the (Dhaka Premier) league is being done better. But the gulf difference remains between the national players and local players (out of the national team),” said Mohammad Salahuddin, who is plying his trade for Gazi Group Cricketers in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
The quality of the national players is increasing day by day than the local players what was not remained in the past. As of now the national players are getting chances to play so many international games alongside getting quality coaches and facilities. But local players are not getting these facilities,” Salahuddin told media in the gap of their training session day before the start of the Super League at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) ground.
“I think a big gap in facilities has been widening day by day and it will be extended further in days to come. It’s not a good sign for our cricket,” he added. Even though the national team is passing a hectic international schedule, there are no more activities of Bangladesh ‘A’ team and Academy Team since so many months. Last time the second string team made their tours in South Africa and Zimbabwe in October, 2015.
National Discard Mohammad Mithun said that the tour of A team is good news for them all.
“It’s good side. Every country should have A team what is very important,” Mohammad Mithun said, who captained Abahani Limited after Mahmudullah Riyad.
“If the tour of A team remains, in that case, the present of the back-up or pipeline of the national team is understood properly. As of now A team has some tours ahead, it’s a good initiative for the board,” Mithun also said.
