KHULNA: Students of around 400 government primary schools in the district have been continuing their classes with traditional blackboard as multimedia class couldn't be launched for lack of necessary equipment, especially laptop, reports UNB.
There are 1,138 government primary schools in Khulna sadar and nine upazilas, among which 397 schools received some multimedia equipment for starting multimedia class about five months ago. But, in most of the schools, the digital equipment, including screens and projectors, have been lying unused for not having any laptop.
Although 192 schools received laptops from the government, of which 38 of went out of order and those have been sent for repairing, said BM Shafiur Rahman, acting Headmaster of Mehmane Alia Govt Primary School.
As there is no laptop to operate the projector students are being deprived of the facilities of multimedia classes, the headmaster said.
School authorities have been asked to start multimedia classes with their own efforts and some schools have already started doing so, said Parvin Jahan, Primary Education Officer of Khulna. Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Hasan said initially over 300 schools were provided with projectors and screens and laptops will also be given to those schools as soon as possible.
