The Parliament Secretariat Commission yesterday approved an estimated Tk 314.91 crore budget for Parliament to spend for its development and non-development expenditures for the next fiscal year (2017-18), reports UNB.
The approval was given at the 28th meeting of the Commission held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Of the total budget, Tk 298.49 crore will be spent for the development sector while Tk 16.42 crore will be used for the non-development sector.
The meeting also approved the projected budgets for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 fiscal years. It also okayed the revised budget of the outgoing financial year.
Members of the Commission Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Law Minister Anisul Huq and Nurul Islam Milon were present at the meeting. ASM Firoz attended the meeting at special invitation.
