Four get life for murder

A court in Manikganj yesterday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment for killing a man at Ghior upazila of the district in 2013. The court also fined them Taka 10,000 each.District and Session Judge Md Mizanur Rahman Khan pronounced the verdict.The convicts are Mahmudul Hasan Babu, 28, son of Zahidul Hasan Khan Minu, M Ismail, 34, son of late Intaj Ali, Riponullah, 28, son of Asarullah and Delwar Hossain, 32, son of Tarachand, all are the residents of Kusta village of the upazila.The prosecution story, in brief, is that on August 8, 2013, police recovered the hanging body of Alim Hossain, 28, son of Aziz Hossain of the same village from the Kusta Imambari Bridge. On August 24, 2013, Shahnaj Begum, sister of the victim filed a case with Ghior Police Station against the four persons. Police, after investigation, submitted charge-sheet before the court.The judge after examining the witnesses and evidences found them guilty and handed down the punishment.
