The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Tuesday fixed the maximum price of per kg beef at Tk 475 and mutton Tk 725 ahead of holy Ramadan, reports UNB.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon took the decision at a meeting with the Bangladesh Meat Traders Association at Nagar Bhaban in the capital.
The prices of buffalo meat were also fixed at Tk 440 per kg, lamb at Tk 620 and foreign beef meat at Tk 440 per kg.
The mayor said the newly fixed prices would remain in effect from the 1st to the 27th Ramadan.
Besides, the mayor also assured the meat traders of taking necessary steps about their demands for a permanent cattle market in the DSCC area.
