A Dhaka court yesterday allowed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out the forensic test on five mobile phone sets seized from two accused– Shafat and Shadman Sakif– in a case filed over the rape of two private university girls in a Banani hotel in the capital, reports UNB. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Delwar gave the permission to CID for conducting the forensic test. Earlier, on Saturday, Ismat Ara Amy, inspector of Victim Support Centre and also the investigation officer of the case, filed a petition before the court. Besides, the court also allowed police to conduct a DNA test of another accused in the case Nayeem Ashraf. All the five accused have been arrested in connection with the rape incident.
