AFP, PRAGUE: Former under-21 international David Bystron became the second high-profile Czech footballer in a matter of weeks to apparently kill himself after he was found hanging in his cellar, reports said Saturday.
The towering 34-year-old defender was found dead in his home in Switzerland on Friday, the Czech newspaper Sport said, amid reports of family and financial problems.
He was playing in Swiss amateur football after a professional career that saw him play twice for the Czech under-21 side, while he was also a Czech league champion with Banik Ostrava and Viktoria Plzen.
