Umpires reported right-arm off break Shafiul Hayet Rhidoy of Victoria Sporting Club for his suspected bowling action in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
Rhidoy is the third bowler, who has been reported in the DPL after Nuruzzaman Masum of Partex Sporting Club and Manvinder Bisla of Brothers Union.
During Victoria’s match against Partex Sporting Club at BKSP-3 on May 17, umpires Gazi Sohel and Masudur Rahman reported against Shafiul Hayet’s bowling. Rhidoy remained wicketless though he gave away 35 runs sending five overs. In this regard, BCB management information system (MIS) manager Nasir Ahmed Nasu said that they will soon work with all of them.
“We’ve information of three suspected bowlers, who have been reported for their suspected bowling action. They are Shafiul Hayet Rhidoy of Victoria Sporting Club, Nuruzzaman Masum of Partex Sporting Club and Manvinder Bisla of Brothers Union,” Nasir Ahmed said.
“We will start our work very soon with them,” Nasu told The Independent. The board showed zero tolerance against the chucker or the suspected bowlers.
Already they formed a Bowling Review Action Committee to look into the matters. The committee started their works with some reported bowlers since last year. Some of whom were released after remodeling their bowling action. Some of whom were suspended. This time they are also working with 12 reported bowlers of the first Division Cricket League.
