ACC sues Gazipur Mayor Mannan for graft

GAZIPUR: The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against MA Mannan, the suspended mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) and an adviser to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, for misappropriating Tk 7.18 crore, reports UNB.
Md Shamsur Alam, deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, filed the case with Joydebpur police station at noon.
Another report adds: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday arrested an official of Satkhira's Civil Surgeon Office from Satkhira in a graft case. ACC assistant director Mahtab Uddin of its Khulna zila office arrested storekeeper Md Fazlul Haque from his office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. Earlier in the day, the ACC filed a case against him with Satkhira Sadar Police Station for allegedly plundering medical equipments worth Tk 7.1 crore from the Civil Surgeon Office.
