Anti-drug campaign launched in Panchagarh

RANGPUR: A year-long mass communication programme was launched today in Panchagarh to create public awareness against drug abuse and militancy to free the district from these social curses, reports BSS.
Panchagarh District Coordination Committee of Community Policing and Crime Control Model jointly launched the programme through bringing out of a huge rally that paraded the main streets of the district town.
Later, a huge public gathering was arranged in front of the National Bank Limited office.
Officials, community policing members, public representatives, teachers, students, youths, civil society members, socio-cultural and political activists, professionals, commoners and elite participated in the rally and gathering.
Deputy commissioner of Panchagarh Amal Krishna Mandal attended the gathering as the chief guest with Police Super Giasuddin Ahmed in the chair.
Panchagarh Zila Parishad Chairman Amanullah Bachchu, People’s Perspective Specialist of the Prime Minister’s Office Naimuzzaman Mukta, District Muktijoddha Commander Mirja Abul Kalam Dulal and convener of district coordination committee of Community Policing Kimwar Hossain Vanu, addressed as special guests.
