AFP, MOSCOW: Newly-crowned champions Spartak Moscow stretched their winning streak in the Russian league to five matches with a 3-0 victory over Terek Grozny on Wednesday.
A brace by skipper Denis Glushakov and a goal from Dutchman Quincy Promes at a packed Otkrytie Arena fired the 10-time Russian champions to a comfortable win.
Spartak, spurred on by a capacity home crowd of 45,000, went ahead on 15 minutes when Glushakov rifled in from just outside the area.
Glushakov grabbed his second of the match just four minutes later to double the lead, and Promes completed the scoring with a fine solo effort 16 minutes from time.
Second-place CSKA Moscow claimed a 2-0 win at 10-man Rubin Kazan to keep control of their Champions League destiny going into Sunday's final round of matches.
CSKA struggled to break Rubin down before Croatian midfielder Mijo Caktas was shown a straight red card for a foul on Vasily Berezutsky shortly after half-time.
Brazilian Vitinho made Rubin pay in the 72nd minute as he blasted in a free-kick, and Alan Dzagoev secured victory in stoppage time with CSKA's second.
Zenit St Petersburg remain a point behind CSKA in the battle for a spot in next season's Champions League third qualifying round after a 1-0 win over Krasnodar.
