Road crash kills three in Jhenidah

Three people including a woman were killed and 30 others injured as a bus hit a roadside tree near Boishakhi Filling Station in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah district yesterday. Two of the deceased were identified as Ibrahim Hossain, 60, of Balidapara village and Aminul Islam, 50, a resident of Madhuganj Bazar of the upazila. The identity of the woman could not be known. Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj police station Amirul Islam said the accident occurred when a Kaliganj-bound bus hit the roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving 33 passengers of the vehicle injured. The injured were sent to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, among the injured eight were shifted to Jessore 250-bed hospital where three succumbed to their injuries.
