“I will take the knowledge of advanced medical technology that I gain in China back to Nepal to help more cancer patients,” said Amleth, a doctor from Nepal. On May 8, Amleth observed a microwave ablation operation in the ultrasound imaging operation theatre at Yunnan Cancer Hospital.
Amleth is a radiation intervention operator from Nepal Cancer Hospital. Beginning May 8, he had been trained in ultrasound-guided microwave ablation technology for one week in Yunnan
After observing the microwave ablation of thyroid nodules, the 32-year-old Amleth said that such advanced technology allows the patient to get out of bed right after the operation and go home immediately.
In recent years, with the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, Yunnan Cancer Hospital has enhanced international cooperative efforts with peers in South and Southeast Asian countries. Previously in 2016, three physicians from India came to study at Yunnan Cancer Hospital.
