Open Space Theatre, a newly formed theatre troupe, is going to premiere their debut play ‘12 Angry Men’—a cult classic courtroom drama, today evening at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.
Directed by M Arifur Rahman, the play ‘12 Angry Men’ is based on the teleplay written by Reginald Rose. The story focuses on a jury’s deliberations in a capital murder case. A 12-man jury is sent to begin deliberations in the first-degree murder trial of an 18-year-old man accused in the stabbing death of his father, where a guilty verdict means an automatic death sentence. ‘12 Angry Men’ explores many techniques of consensus-building and the difficulties encountered in the process, among a group of men whose range of personalities adds intensity and conflict.
Open Space Theatre group was launched in January 2017 inspired by the passion and love for theatre. It is a youthful and professional team, relentlessly practicing and rehearsing to bring out the most honest, open, and vivid theatrical performances to entertain the audiences.
