The owner of Apan Jewellers and his two brothers and a lawyer of Raintree Hotel authorities appeared before the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) yesterday morning, reports UNB.
Dildar Ahmed, owner of Apan Jewellers and his two brothers - Dulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed Shohag - and a lawyer Jahangir Kabir appointed by the Raintree Hotel authorities entered at the CIID office at Kakrail around 11:30am, said a source at the customs intelligence. The owner of Raintree Hotel sought one month time to appear before the CIID as he was physically sick, said lawyer Jahangir.
Earlier on Monday, Moinul Khan, CIID Director General said that the CIID asked them to appear before it with their valid documents as they will be interrogated over the jewelry and liquor seized on Sunday.
On May 14, a number of CIID teams in separate drives seized 286 kilograms of gold and 61 grams of diamond without valid documents from Gulshan, Uttara, Mouchak and Shimanta Square branches of Apan Jewellers.
