As a registered political party, BNP yesterday sought additional one and a half months time from the Election Commission (EC) to submit audit reports of its annual income and expenditure for 2014.
A two-member BNP delegation led by its assistant office secretary Asadul Karim Shahin went to the EC at 11am and submitted an application addressing commission secretary Sirajul Islam. The BNP sought additional time till September 15 and the plea comes two days after the ruling Awami League sought additional one and a half months time from the commission to submit their audit reports.
Shahin told reporters that they applied for additional time to submit the party’s audit reports following the law. He said additional secretary of EC Mokhlesur Rahman received the application as the secretary was not available at that time.
