Mahadeb Ghosh releases five Rabindra Sangeet albums

On the occasion of the 156th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore, noted Rabindra Sangeet exponent Mahadeb Ghosh released a number of five solo Rabindra Sangeet albums. The cover unveiling programme of five new albums held at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium, Public Library in the capital on Sunday. Noted cultural personality Kamal Lohani was present as chief guest at the ceremony and unveiled the covers of the albums with other guests. The programme was also attended by poet and lyricist Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam, cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Shri Anup Bhattacharya, Laser Vision managing director Mazharul Islam and others.
The titles of five albums have been taken from the lines of Tagore songs, such as ‘Krisna Koli Ami Taarei Boli’, ‘Amar Sokol Dukher Prodwip’, ‘Amaro Porano Jaha Chay’, ‘He Chiro Nutun’ and ‘Emono Dine Taare Bola Jay’. To note, Mahadev Ghosh is an accomplished Rabindra Sangeet singer. He has learned music from renowned Gurus such as Abdul Ahad, Ustad Fazlul Haque and Omar Faruque. Ghosh completed a certificate course on Rabindra Sangeet from Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts, where he presently works as a senior teacher in the Rabindra Sangeet department.
Mahadev Ghosh is enlisted as a special grade singer in Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. He released two music albums so far named ‘Amar Hiyar Majhe’ and ‘Amar Praner Manush Ache Prane’. He was honoured with the award ‘Podokkhep Bangladesh’ in 2011 during the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of Bangladesh’s Independence. He established ‘Rabirashmi’– a Rabindra Sangeet organisation in 1998.
